Okay... well, I've been looking into one of these things for a while. I guess I just finally decided to break down and try it out. I mean, I had something like this a while back that I kept up for all of two weeks... but maybe this time will be different. Not that I even have a clue about why I'm doing this all of a sudden right now.

Anyway, first things first - about the name. Most people I know would expect something totally different from me... and maybe that's why I chose "dragonboy042." The fact that I'm using it as an alternate Yahoo! ID as part of a Suikoden 3 RPG definitely helps, but everyone would probably have expected me to do something more traditionally anime for me. Oh well.

But the whole dragon thing is strange. I guess I've always been fascinated by the concept, but never really looked into them for whatever reason - and given my usually inquisitive nature into everything, I guess I should find that odd. But shortly after the Dreamcast died, I found a game on it called "Dragon Riders: Chronicles of Pern" based on the books by Anne McCaffrey. I don't know why, but I found the game highly interesting, and it sparked my interest in the books. It took me a while to break down and get them, but once I started, I simply couldn't stop - I made it through the entire series (as released up to now) in just under 3 months. That's a lot of books. ^_^;;;

The combination of Anne McCaffrey with being the writer for Futch and Bright in a Suikoden 3 RPG just lends itself to this name. And if I can ever find the first 15 episodes of Dragon Drive, I'll probably be all fanatical about that, too. Heck, after seeing just the opening theme I've fallen in love with it enough to hunt down the way too kawaii white dragon plushie they released.

So, that's the basics as to the name. As for why I'm doing this, I still don't entirely know... but it's probably at least a little bit out of boredom.

I suppose the trick will be seeing if I keep up with this. :)

Okay, well... I'm learning about stuff, at least. I finally have a journal that looks respectable and doesn't exist in Times New Roman - figuring all that out turned into a big trauma. This system looks like it'll be easy once I get the hang of things, but just starting out is confusing as all hell.

I'm definitely going to have to look into this stuff further, and play around with my journal formatting to get to something that I truly like and can call my own. I think tomorrow it'll be time to play with some colors.

And then maybe I can start actually using the posts for something useful.
