\/\/00t!

I leave for Anime Central in a couple hours, and will be brought there by the wonderful Chicago Transit Authority. Damn, is it going to be interesting taking the train with all the crap I've got. Messenger bag full of cel books, my rolling suitcase with a 5-foot long box strapped to the side of it via packing tape (gotta love quarterstaves and the fiberglass flag poles you can use for them), a large-ish blue backpack, and a smaller blue bag of random stuff. It's probably even less than I had to bring to the con last year, though, because even my most elaborate costume (McDohl) takes up less room than Kain Blueriver did last year.

Thankfully the weather is looking pretty good (according to weather.com, we're looking at mid to high 60s all weekend) - otherwise there's no way in hell I'd even consider bringing my cels. And I feel a distinct urge to show them off, even though I know some people will wind up getting at least a little mad at some of the stuff I've gotten and haven't mentioned previously.

Now to pray that just maybe I can get lucky in the dealer's room...

Bless you, Mr. Sweeney (junior year AP English teacher in high school), I never thought I'd ever hear that line in that accent you did so well again once I'd left Bayonne High. Of course, then again, I never thought I'd hear *myself* saying it in that accent, either.

Basically, I should've been at the hotel already. But due to a failure in communications, I'm sitting at home still in limbo as to what room we're in, how I can get access to said room, and all sorts of crazy stuff. And now, I'm realizing that to get to the hotel I need to take the Red Line downtown, and then the Blue Line out from there.

Red Line... to downtown... estimated time of arrival downtown: no earlier than 5:00 PM.

Kami-sama, give me strength. I'm going to have to survive rush hour in the Chicago Loop, on the El, with my messenger bag, backpack, and rolling suitcase with 5-foot long cardboard triangle box strapped to its side.

Well, at least I took advantage of realizing this and managed to get rid of the small bag I had in addition to those three. So, apparently... my limit for buying things is what'll fit in 6 DVD space or less, otherwise, I'm going to have to be carrying an extra bag home on Sunday. x_X

The joys of an anime convention... the stress of an anime convention... if only there were some way to get the first without having the second.
