Oh my good lord, I can appreciate DSL so much more after spending the last week on dial-up. Good thing I haven't canceled my Earthlink service yet - I still haven't received the package with my software from SBC and new DSL modem in it, because UPS sucks. Well, that and the fact that I was going to call in sick today but decided not to late yesterday, when an emergency at work popped up.
You'd think that a company who relies on 6-digit tracking numbers would have tested long ago to make sure the system could handle 7-digits ones, right? Nope, not us. We rolled over to 1,000,000 and the system couldn't handle - track number input was limited to 6 characters. Our nw screen's not, so the thought was that I was going to have to crash-course all the rest of our data entry team on it today. Except that IT managed to fix our old screen so it accepts 7-digit inputs - at about 9:10 this morning, long after I arrived, and just after I'd started training my first group of the morning. *sigh*
C'est la vie, ne? Now all I need to do is drop some Spanish and Latin in this post to have a complete set, sì?
Okay then... Habes stercum stercorum en tua toga.
The one line I fully remember from Latin except for some random fragments of some poems by Catullus. I really need to re-memorize the napkins one...
Okay, I'm done babbling... I'm off to enjoy broadband again!
