Dammit, the first day back to work after vacation is always so difficult... right now, all I want to do is vegetate for a while.
I got in to work at 7:30 this morning, like usual, and faced down the 66 emails in my inbox. Unfortunately, I was only able to delete about 20 of them outright, and then I printed the others in order of importance. If you've seen Dai-Guard, and looked an Shunsuke Akagi's desk... well, that was my desk this morning. It was not a pretty sight, let me tell you. I played the Dai-Guard opener, "Rojiura no Uchuu Shonen," a couple of times to get in a better mood, and then put a Post-It note on my cubicle name tag, changing my name for the day from David to "Shunsuke Akagi" - it just fit too well (thanks, Jen, for pointing that out to me). And by lunch, I was actively searching for my giant mech so that could deliver justice unto the rest of the office.
I had four new clients to process today, which is way too many. Only two of them went out today, so there's two more sitting on my desk for tomorrow. And one of the is Labatt's, yet another feather in our beer clientele hat at work. Damn my boss, Jin, for taking today off. And since she also took Thursday afternoon and Friday off last week when I was on vacation, our big boss Mark sent out an email saying that we can't ever both be out of the office at the same time again. I guess it's good for me I put my vacation requests in a month early, and bad for Jin who waits for the week before... but it still sucks.
Gah, I think I need to go watch some anime for the rest of the night, sitting here is just pointless. Why isn't anyone online anymore?
