So, with less than a month to go before AX (OMG it's that soon already?!?!), this morning I conjured up the idea that I want to find a costume to finish before the con. Yes, I am that crazy.

Now, the best part is... for some reason I am unable to fathom, Killey's costume from Suikoden V is the first that jumped to mind. I looked in the strategy guide at his character profile, which is kind of a crouching front view, and thought it looked reasonable. Then, on the way to work, I happened to spot the back of the costume. It's the fifth picture on that linked page. Um, yeah. Not going to happen.

Also not going to happen in a month: Suikoden IV's Keneth. Unless anyone knows where I can find a short-sleeved orange hoodie to fabric paint, that is. Google searches are freaking useless for clothing.

I haven't made my way through the Suikoden 1-3 books yet, but I'm not likely to find anything reasonably recognizable (to remember the character myself even) that is doable... but you never know, I could be forgetting somebody.

Why the focus on Suikoden costumes? I dunno... probably because I'm playing through V now, and it's highly under-represented in general. Although I don't frequent the cosplay.com forums, so it's possible there's going to be a group of every single character from all the games at AX somehow.

And it's also better than thinking about trying to do an FFXI costume in time, since... well THIS is happening. I did toy with the idea of taking two weeks off from work somehow to make the level 17 Lizard set out of cardboard, but that's not going to happen. Were I a summoner, I'd consider getting a costume made and carrying around my Carby plushie, but I don't think I can afford it at the moment (however, it's an idea I'm going to let stew in my brain until next year).
