FFXI Rant (you've been warned)

Someday... (Weis RDM)
Woodworking is both a blessing and a curse. It was my first craft overall, my second craft to 30 (I took up Cooking while Woodworking was in the 16-20 Elm Lumber rut way back in the inflationary days), and my first craft to 60. Which means that most of the recipes I've been leveling Alchemy, Boneworking, or Clothcrafting on have been related to arrowheads, bolt heads, and fletchings. "Oh, I can turn these into arrows or bolts! I said to myself."

Well, I can. The problem is doing it when you've got stacks and stacks and stacks of materials. I've got about 1.7 stacks of Holy Bolt Heads, another .7 stacks of Acid Bolt Heads, 2+ stacks of Fang Arrowheads... and it all just makes my head hurt thinking about it. And that's not even counting the mis-matched fletchings and arrowheads I have laying around because I can't make them yet.

Praise Altana for the Lumberjack skill! It's so satisfying cranking out the occasional full stack of Arrowwood or Ash lumber. ^_^

Ren Faire...

Sousuke lounging about
I hath found myself at a crossroads, as I know not what I want to wear to the Faire. Mine existing outfit is functional, but I would rather add something to it or come up with a second.

I hath under consideration both a tabard and a surcote, or possibly a doublet.

The doublet is the least likely - my current shirt certainly won't work at all with that collar, so it would require one of these ruffly shirts.

I'm a little partial towards the blue/white surcote with a new shirt in either white or natural, or possibly black like shown in the surcote picture. Without buying a new shirt, Jen and I think that the brown surcote will go nicest with the navy blue shirt I have.

Does anyone care to share thine opinion?

Of course, if I do get the surcote, I need to consider weaponry. I'm thinking of just picking up one of those hefty wooden swords they had at the Faire last year, instead of live steel. No need to tempt myself with the ability to run people at work through, right?
