Yesterday was my birthday, and I did have an enjoyable day. ^_^
It started out with me wanting to use up all the FFXI lumber I made earlier in the week. I had like 1.5 stacks of ingredients for Fang Arrows, so figured I'd make bunches. Windurst was winning in Conquest, so I took my happy ass there through Jeuno (sweet Altana how I do love that airship pass), and picked up a few stacks of Carnations on the way. Not realizing, of course, that the quivering Mithra doesn't actually quiver Fang Arrows. I bitched muchly about that to my screen, and have resigned myself to having 40 stacks of arrows that'll likely take me 2 weeks to sell. Le sigh.
Jen took a half day from work, so I picked her up at noon and we stopped for lunch at Chipotle (been a long while since I got my last burrito from them), and then proceeded to Old Orchard for a matinée showing of Enchanted. We've been meaning to see this movie since it came out, but it seemed like we could never get to the theater (and when they started having the last showing on any given day at 4:00, it got more difficult). The movie was great!
I also found the first Full Metal Panic novel at Barnes & Noble, so I can read that one before I start on volume 2.
On the way home, we stopped at Lincolnwood so I could pick up a birthday present at Gamestop. Well, Electronics Boutique - yeah, they don't even have an EB Games logo up on the store, just the really old fashioned blue script Electronics Boutique logo. Anyway, while there, I picked up Final Fantasy III for the DS, and a 1GB memory card for the Wii. We also stopped and got ice cream at the Haagen Dazs. ^_^;;;
We finished the night, after requisite calls from my parents (including a sung message on the answering machine from my father), with our standard FFXI static party. I now have my first job over 30 (WHM), and we had a great time massacring the mandagora in Yhoator. This means I should be able to safely switch to RDM and start bringing that up to higher levels. AF, here I come...
So in the end, do I feel any older? No, not really. This one was just a birthday.The one in two years, when I hit 30... that one will be the one that kills me, probably. No, wait... 30 is next year. Well, shit. :-(
And the apartment is very chilly this morning.
edit: because I can't count and screwed up my birthdays.
