Um anyway MIA from the internet generally, was going to share some pictures but I haven't gotten to offloading (trying to finish EARLY for once). Playing with power tools, alas, trumped Speed Racer for the moment. Things are going okay, I'm around where I think I should be - though 5:30 into one element, I'm thinking that people who quilt have entirely more patience than I do. Admittedly I'm trying to do things I shouldn't be doing so fast - like I am now or have ever been in my right mind.

Buuuut official wig crisis #2 intervened (hopefully crisis #1 is narrowly averted by scaring seller into shipping wig after all). I discover that two Sepia wigs from the same line in the same color . . . are not the same color. Ookay, didn't see that one coming. Anybody know where to get Kanekalon braiding hair really fast? >_< (Doc Locks ships UPS aka "you ain't gonna get it when you want".) LAWL. Well if it doesn't happen, it doesn't.

I am now a proud employee of "I sold it". one of those ebay stores. I still work at jewel and this will be yet another time in my life where I will be juggling two jobs. I'll be working with Leyann, so at least there will be someone familiar there too. With Jewel trying to cut their payroll and making hell for their employees this is going to be a nice breath of fresh air, not to mention the extra money is well needed too. I start Monday and I'm fairly excited. :D

I really hate having a headache and sinus pressure and pain ALL DAY with no relief. I'm going to bed.

Pretty much spent my entire weekend with the two biggest blockbuster releases this summer, that being the Iron Man movie and Grand Theft Auto 4.

Both insanely good entertainment. I think Iron Man is now my favorite superhero movie. I'm not going to say it's better than say Batman Begins or the first Spider-Man (also fantastic comic movies I love) but Iron Man is definitely my favorite. I think it's Robert Downey Jr's portrayal of Tony Stark that does it.
It was just so damn good that I cannot possibly see anyone else filling that role unlike Batman or Spider-Man where I could have seen other actors taking up the roles of Bruce Wayne and Peter Parker respectively (although don't get me wrong, I think Christian Bale and Toby McGuire did an excellent job with perhaps the exception of Spidey 3, blah.)
As far as I'm concerned Robert Downey Jr = Tony Stark.

Also been spending a lot of time in Liberty City. I'm absolutely loving everything about GTA4, although I guess I'm not to keen on the driving physics.
I mean they're really good and all, but I kind of liked the older, easier maneuvering instead of the more realistic feel to it. Before you could pretty much turn any corner easily unless you had an obviously large vehicle like a truck, limo, van, etc. Chase mission are insanely hard for me.
Again not that there's anything wrong with the game itself, just a personal preference.
I think the biggest two most significant differences this time around are the look and feel of the city and the characters/storyline.

Speaking of GTA4 it seems Rockstar Games have decided to sue our very own Chicago Transit Authority (http://kotaku.com/387436/take+two-sues-cta-over-yanked-gta-iv-ads) over them having pulled the ads for GTA4 which pretty much went against the agreed contract.
From what I understand the CTA pulled the ads due to a typical Fox News "games make kids violent" report right after a particularly violent weekend in the city.
While it certainly seems fair to me that CTA deserves to get sued I fear that this could end up hurting us since we all know CTA is broke as a joke. It will be interesting to see how these turn of events ends up. Fucking Fox News.

Fuck now I'm pissed. Guess I'll go vent my frustration and run some people over in GTA. :D

The weekend wasn't so bad. I had to call in sick today because I was in complete agony from leg and back pain due to all the walking, stairs and getting in and out of cars, and my stomach was retaliating as well from the weekend of food. I could barely get out of bed, and I'm still in pain. yuck. My stomach hurts. ow...

So, Outlet Mall on Saturday, Aquarium on Sunday. They took out the Black & Decker outlet from the Prime Outlets in Wisconsin, so I was sad, I didn't get my drill.

I'm thinking of having a horror film fest (movies featured: 30 days of night, AVP2 uncut, cloverfield, etc..) and was curious if anyone would be interested. My manager has been reducing payroll and I'm either working a couple hours in the morning or just have off on Sundays, so I'm thinking maybe the Sunday after ACEN (the 25?). I'd say this Sunday, but I think that's Mother's day and the Sunday after that is ACEN. I figure something like this would be fun.

I'm also thinking of doing a doing the same thing with Troma movies (Toxic Avenger, Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter, Class of Nuk'em high, Poultrygeist, etc.) just to have a hangout and rip on some horrid B movies.

So the question is...

Who's interested?
